The Car Boy

The Boy has had this cool Plasma Car for a while now, but this was the first day we brought it outside. Next vehicle to master: the trike.

Welcome to Paradox, CO

home of the annual Redd Ranches Bull Sale. And probably one of my favorite places to be.

Some come for the bulls, others come for the meat. And beans. And BBQ sauce.

There are plenty of cute cowboys around.

The Boy preferred to stay in Papa's truck. I think he would have stayed in there forever if he hadn't seen this......

I literally had to pry his fingers from the steering wheel while bribing him with a brownie to get him off.

Don't worry that fence is 100% bull-proof.

Almost.

When I was a little kid at the Bull Sale I used to sit right where The Boy is and play in the sawdust with big plastic cups.

What is so fun about sawdust and cups anyway?

There is only one thing The Boy loves more than Papa's truck. Papa.

The "New" Boy

Before......

After........

About a month ago, we did it. I was just getting sick of the "bowl cut" look. Aunt Holly did the deed and did a great job! The Boy was really good too. The sucker helped. I wish I would have taken a picture of the floor, there was so much hair! Poor kid has his mama's hair.

Tato, sorry it took me so long to get these pictures up. (Our computer got sick)

Birthday Party #2

Last month we had birthday party #2 for my side of the family.
The Boy got his first pair of cowboy boots, a rite of passage in my family.

Uncle Brad doing the honors.

He also got his first belt buckle! And a cute cowboy shirt and some wranglers!

We also celebrated Aspen's birthday and she got these beautiful chaps. So lucky!

Birthday Bash

The Boy turned two!

Truck Cake (I am not a professional cake decorator)

Unfortunately The Boy failed to blow out his candles. He had to have a little help. (Grandpa) I'm sure he'll get 'em next year!

The Boy opened his second present and refused to open any more. He just wanted to play with his new truck book. Luckily, we convinced him to continue opening his other presents.

Future keeper? I'd like to think so.
Possible Halloween costume? Letter Boy, Alphaboy?
Along with turning 2, The Boy has really turned on his language skills. He actually tries to say words now and can say lots of words including, but not limited to: more, car (of course), fan, heat, hot, two, sit, Papa A and Papa B, Paul, Tate, blue (boo), eat, me, mine, pee, poo and potty, and my personal favorite and most recent, sauce.

The Boy

New Year's Eve

Sledding at G&G B's

I have no idea what he's trying to do with that thing!

Daddy-Powered sledding!

The Boy really likes to eat plain bread. This particular Sunday morning I had given him one and then was trying to get ready. This is how I found him, comfy as can be stuffing his face with bread on my side of the bed! Needless to say we are trying harder to enforce the "food stays in the kitchen" rule!

Christmas...

was how long ago?
Here are just a few pics from our Christmas celebrations!
playing with "baby Jesus"

The Boy sat exactly like that through then entire "The Twelve Days of Christmas"! He was perfectly still.

Christmas morning. If The Boy looks tired, he is. He only slept for maybe 3 hours, total. He was trying really hard to be an only child. I think he just might have succeeded.

Sharing his "Sit-n-Spin" with his sweet cousin Esther Kate.
Opening a cool wooden train set with Aunt Tato. The Boy doesn't say much, but we did manage to get him to say "Tay-O"!
Playing with his cool new tool bench and Lui!

Opening toys with Papa B
