Random Pictures of The Boy

The Boy's latest feeding accomplishment: feeding himself with a spoon.

As you can see, he hasn't quite mastered it, but he is really pretty good. This week he also used a fork to pick up waffles. And he picked up peas and little bits of carrot and ate them! This is huge because he has been anti-veggie pick-up, only eating veggies (and most fruit) mashed with cereal. HUGE!

Sporting some way cute clothes.

Here is the story behind this picture. I was doing something in the kitchen and The Boy was playing nicely in the living room. Then I heard him screaming, I rush into the living room and this is what I saw. Of course, I grab my camera instead of rescuing him. I just love his face, he is so mad! I'm a mean mom.

Spring Break Revisited

We saw this....

Great fun! Delightful story, incredible performers, and memorable music. Loved every minute!

We also saw Brandi Carlile, live! "The Story" is the first song I heard and one of my faves, but she has a lot of other cool stuff, including some great covers. Her cover of Folsom Prison Blues was really good. I also liked her version of Hallelujah. She has a really cool voice. Thank you Ryan and Jennifer for introducing Brandi Carlile and taking us to her concert!

P.S. Tato...I always think of you when I hear this song!

Spring Break

We went to the park on the only nice day of the week!

The Boy loves to swing!

And pick up wood chips and dirt!

I love the baby squat!

The Boy's new trick is to climb up into the rocker and totally lounge! We have taught him well!

Bull Sale

Last Saturday I was in Paradox, CO and I wish I was still there. For those of you who don't know about this unique family tradition, my uncle has a livestock business in Colorado called Redd Ranches. Each year they have a Bull Sale complete with cowboys, bulls, an autioneer and the best lunch you'll ever have. Roast beast, prairie fire beans, vinegary coleslaw, rolls, Aunt Diane's BBQ sauce (which is one of my favorite things in this world!) and BYU brownies! Grandma Annie entrusted my dad with the meat recipe, so he is the "Meat Man". He gets up ridiculously early to get the meat smoking. My brothers and adopted brother help too. While the boys tend the meat, the women do everything else! Prairie Fire beans is another Grandma Annie recipe. My mom and aunts make a lot of beans! All the family helps out with serving lunch. (except me this year, I had a sick baby) After lunch, the auction gets going and it is so fun to hear the auctioneer! Each year I see my family and extended family work together to have a successful sale and I am so proud to be a part of this incredible tradition. I apologize for the long explanation, but it is close to my heart, and I forgot my camera! I aksed my photographer brother to document The Boy's first Bull Sale, but I haven't got the pics yet. But, my other brother made a little video that shows the behind the scenes of the meat cooking. I hope he doesn't mind if I post it here!

First Haircut

Ok, so as much I didn't want to cut The Boy's luscious locks, I was sick of constantly brushing his hair out of his eyes and it was just time. Last week I took The Boy to my beautiful and talented sis-in-law for a trim. G-ma and G-pa B were there to take pics and then take The Boy away so I could get my hair cut. The Boy did pretty well, especially after we gave him a sucker. My sister did a fantastic job! Although I still miss his long hair!

Just a few....

....pictures of The Boy

This was how I found The Boy during his morning nap.

This little black lamb was the only one that came up to the fence when G-ma and G-pa B took us to see the cute little lambies!

I know what you're thinking..."Give that boy a haircut."

But I just can't bring myself to cut it.
