Summer Camp 2009

Here are alot of pics from our annual Summer Camp excursion.

Brett about to launch off in his 18 ft sea kayak that he built when he was 16.
It floats!

See that little head in the kayak? That is The Boy on his first kayak ride.

The Boy's new obsession is cars. Driving cars. What did he want to do after being in his car seat for 6 hrs? Get back in the car!

The First Ever Summer Camp Archery Tournament

I just love this pic of Aspen pulling back on the bow.

Brett and his mad archery skills. I made his cool tie-dye shirt.

He ended up winning The First Ever Summer Camp Archery Tournament

in a shootout with my dad.

Water Balloon Launcher.

The best part of this pic is Jess. She is the one in her swimming suit and boots posing backwards. So cute.

The Boy and me on the 4-wheeler. Don't worry I only took him on a 30 sec ride. Twice.

"One More"

Two weeks ago we were in Norwood, Colorado and LaSal, Utah for some serious family reunion-ing. At LaSal there were two really cute yellow labs, one named Aspen and the other Tex. The Boy, of course, loved the dogs. One day he started feeding Tex some Teddy Grahams. I guess he thought Tex had had enough because he told him "one more".
"One More" consists of holding one finger up, this is sometimes followed by the sign for "more", but usually it's just the one finger.

New Comfort

Move over Tigger....

The Boy has a new favorite.

We acquired this old 'mote control jeep from Jack-Jack. Apparantly Brad thought they had thrown it away, but The Boy found it and would not let it go. It's a good thing they let us have it, because he wasn't about t leave there without it.

He slept with it the next two nights (naps, too) He doesn't sleep with it as much now, but he loves playing with it. And he still loves Tigger and his blanket!

Cherry Picker

Tuesday evening we sat outside with a bowl of cherries. The Boy could not keep his hands out of the bowl. He would pick a cherry and then proceed to pierce it with his thumb and then suck the juice out. Only one suck though and then he was ready for another cherry. Hey, I'm just happy he put something other than yogurt and applesauce in his mouth!

Thanks Gramama C for the lovely cherries!

boo boo

The other day The Boy fell and hit his head on the corner of the cement step outside our house. I couldn't tell how deep it was so we went to the Dr.'s office just to make sure he didn't need stitches. We waited forever just for a steri strip, which I could have done myself, except for the fact that The Boy was screaming and squirming and it took 2 of us just to hold him down while the Dr. put the steri strip on. So, we hit a milestone: almost stitches.
I am sure this will not be the last boo boo.

Another injury from the fall.

Two days later. It looks messy because it wouldn't stop bleeding that first night. I had to put a band-aid on it and the blood just dried around it, but he won't let me clean it.

Peek-A-Boo

Please enjoy this delightful video of The Boy.

Tiptoe through the tulips....

Last week mom and I went to Thanksgiving Point for the Tulip Festival. I love tulips.
Love them.
I wish I had mad photography skills.

Wish I had any photography skills.

I love the way they bend.

What? No pics of The Boy? He slept through the entire outing. Didn't wake up when I took him out of the car seat. Or back in car seat. Or out of car seat again. We'll have to go back for Farm Country.
