Doing something right

The other day it was quiet for a minute, then two minutes. I quickly set out on a search for The Boy. To my utter surprise and delight, this is where I found him.....
....in his room in the rocking chair reading.

So even though he doesn't eat or talk, at least he loves to read.

I must be doing something right.

Hobble Creek Half Marathon

Last Saturday we ran the Hobble Creek Half Marathon. It was a good day for all. Brett took 3rd overall male (he was 4th overall). I got a PR with a 1:33:59. And Brett's mom and her friend completed their first half marathon in around 2 hours! Yay! Go us!
Post-race pic.

The Boy and daddy.

Brett's award. He also got $100. So after our registration fees, he made about $20!

A HUGE thank you to Grandpa and Aunt Bean and Uncle Shmeeli for watching The Boy!!!!

The Ulcer

A few weeks ago Uncle Pablo rode in The Ulcer, which is a bike race around Utah Lake!
It was 110 miles! WAY TO GO PABLO!

All of us waiting for Pablo.

Cheering the other cyclists in!

Messing around with Pablo's sweet bike!

Salt Lake County Fair

Awhile back we went to the SL County Fair. It was, um, interesting.

The Boy at the petting zoo.

A baby camel!

Tractor!

I liked the pigs the best. Awwww, so cute.

Family Reunion

A few pics from the family reunion in LaSal.

The Boy and his marshmallow gun. He wanted to eat the mallows not shoot them. But there were marshmallows everywhere and it wasn't long before The Boy started picking up dirty mallows from the ground and eating them!

The Boy giving "Aspen" a luv.

This has been a favorite toy lately. The Boy is pretty good with his hand-eye coordination.

Breakfast in the ranger.

And of course, "one more" ride in the ranger.

Summer Camp 2009

Here are alot of pics from our annual Summer Camp excursion.

Brett about to launch off in his 18 ft sea kayak that he built when he was 16.
It floats!

See that little head in the kayak? That is The Boy on his first kayak ride.

The Boy's new obsession is cars. Driving cars. What did he want to do after being in his car seat for 6 hrs? Get back in the car!

The First Ever Summer Camp Archery Tournament

I just love this pic of Aspen pulling back on the bow.

Brett and his mad archery skills. I made his cool tie-dye shirt.

He ended up winning The First Ever Summer Camp Archery Tournament

in a shootout with my dad.

Water Balloon Launcher.

The best part of this pic is Jess. She is the one in her swimming suit and boots posing backwards. So cute.

The Boy and me on the 4-wheeler. Don't worry I only took him on a 30 sec ride. Twice.

"One More"

Two weeks ago we were in Norwood, Colorado and LaSal, Utah for some serious family reunion-ing. At LaSal there were two really cute yellow labs, one named Aspen and the other Tex. The Boy, of course, loved the dogs. One day he started feeding Tex some Teddy Grahams. I guess he thought Tex had had enough because he told him "one more".
"One More" consists of holding one finger up, this is sometimes followed by the sign for "more", but usually it's just the one finger.
