New Trick....

...that is driving mommy crazy! The Boy can now pull himself up into a standing position! And since he is still quite unstable he falls and bonks his head. A lot. The other day he had a mini black eye! The frustrating part is that he won't just sit nicely and play. He has to be on the move, climbing up something, or crawling into places he shouldn't. One of his favorite things to climb is mommy So, I can't just sit on the couch and read or work on church stuff anymore because he comes over and insists on climbing either me or the coffee table and then cries. I'm sure all you moms are just laughing to yourself, but seriously how do I get anything done? And the other thing is the crib! He pulls himself up and then cries and cries! We had been doing pretty well at teaching him how to soothe himself (letting him cry until he falls asleep). Now that he knows how to pull himself up he won't lay down and even try to relax! Yesterday he cried for an hour! I went in twice to calm him, but he still insitsted on standing and crying. When all was finally quiet, I peeked in and he was asleep! And today, just now, he fussed a tiny bit and then just layed down and went to sleep! Victory! (at least for this nap!)

Well, one thing is for sure... he looks super cute in his Gymboree Alligator jammies!

Random Moments

Here are just a few random, but cute moments from the last week or so.

Sometimes The Boy doesn't quite get the bink in the right way. But, hey, whatever works baby!

Rice cereal, yay! This is The Boy's first encounter with solid food! Of course he pushed most of it out with his tongue, and even though it's hard to see in the picture, rice cereal was all over his face, neck and bib! But I think I got a little bit down!

Superbaby! Playing with daddy out at G & G B's in Mapleton. We housesitted for them while they went cruising Alaska!

Bear Lake

Ah, first time feeling sand between the toes! I hope The Boy liked it. We sure had fun at Bear Lake a few weeks ago. We missed Tato-head and her fabulous skiing, but it was still a good trip. It was fun to see The Boy experience some things like the lake and the kiddie pool. I got up on the wakeboard for like, 20 sec! And, even though I was up all night with The Boy I still got up at 5:15am to go running and, surprisingly had a really good run! Thanks to all the wonderful family members who helped watch The Boy so B and I could go out on the boat!

Olympic Junkie

So, for the past three days I feel like I have done nothing but watch the Olympics! B and I watched the entire 4 hour Opening Ceremonies! Which was awesome, by the way. It was fun to see our friend/BYU teammate, Josh McAdams, walk in with Team USA. He will be competing in the Steeplechase! Go Josh! Go USA! I love the Olympics!
